Health Update

Had a doc appointment today with the specialist.

Good news is, I get to keep my foot.

Bad news is, I am definitely heading back to surgery.

Well, that's actually good news too!

I have a ganglion cyst, which most likely brought back the problems with my foot.
Or my foot problems caused the cyst? Who knows.

So the surgery plans will be submitted for approval & I'll go to surgery.

Bring it on!

I'm really ready to get well again!

One of the things I really want to get out there & do is -- GO HIKING! Take long walks! Ride my bike again! So in the future, I hope to be able to gain my life back again!

Thank you all for your concerns of the past, present & future.  I truly appreciate it.

  3. at least it has a name now... you going to have to go through therapy again? I'd stay off Ellie's roof this time around! ... get those rolling sneaker things for that foot... scoot it about and stay off it or get a sit down walker thingy.

    this time ... it'll work...

    1. It's always had a name, Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome. But it's been a slow process of getting through all the red tape. Ellie's roof doesn't hurt me, walking, riding the bike or standing long do. But when I'm on the roof, I'm usually sitting. However, I don't have to go up there for anything any time soon ;-)

NOOOO, no rolling sneakers! That would be bad, very, very bad for the foot. I wear a brace too.

Yes, I'll have to do physical therapy after surgery.

  6. I sure hope the surgery resolves your foot problems. Believe me I feel for you. My broken ankle, without complications, was enough for me. Now, I think I am beginning to have problems with Plantar Fasciatis. Getting old is definitely not for wimps.

I truly wish you the best results with your surgery. Remember I have that bottle of tequila waiting for you. :-)

    1. Hahaha, yes, lets open that bottle soon!
Broken ankle, I've had that too, didn't even know it was broken at the time ;-) Plantar Fasciatis is very painful, follow protocol to take care of yourself with that.

No, getting old is not for wimps for sure.

  9. Hard to enjoy movement with anything aching in those lower extremities ... hope that the surgery is quick healing and gets you back up and at it before you know it. Had a family member who came through something similar with flying colors...

    1. Thanks, yes, the surgery can work, most times. I did have it, then it re-occured. So maybe this time around will be better.
