Therapy*CrazyPeople*Bloody Shirts

What's up with a crazy subject line like that?

Well Hey, it's me!

First of all, I hope everyone fared well through The Big Storm, Sandy. I very well know what those storms are like.

Today was another therapy and doctor session.
Lunch was a mushroom and onion pizza ...not exactly diet food, but yummy.

Today's mental therapy was full of challenges brought on by a few men that have mind sets set back into 1950's thinking. I do find it interesting how some people think..so much of it has to do with how they were raised.
So, the usual welcome sign on the door was changed from a pleasant invite to this; ha, at my suggestion.

Y'know...blogging from this phone has it's challenges.

Much easier on the computer.

When I got home, I checked on my Halloween project --
Bloody shirts! I was given this project and I have to admit, they turned out pretty cool.

OK, done with this post.

Again, a challenge to do with cell phone.

Tracking Sandy

I've been watching Sandy on NOAA's site. When I first saw it, I thought she'd simply go back out to sea...but it doesn't appear to be so.

Anyone in the path of this storm, please, please do what you need to keep yourselves safe!

Hurricanes effect me more now emotionally than they used to.  Not sure how much I'll be able to watch, but I'll be hoping and praying for ya'll.

On a lighter note, I went a'shoppin'  tonight. OK, OK..nothing really all that exciting actually.

Just dog food, cat food, a few people food items and these
cute slipper socks.

They are soft, fluffy  and lined. But don't have  soles like slippers do
Perfect to wear inside on the chilly RV floor.

Take care and again, stay safe.

Sunrise, today, sunset

Hi, hope all is good with everyone.

Not much going on here.

Woke up to this:

The little white dot in the sky is a bright star.

A closer view of the morning clouds. Really cool looking huh?

Got up before light, took care of my dogs, shot this picture as I was heading back to the RV to get ready to leave for therapy.

Went to therapy today, had Schlotskys' for lunch - YUM!

Left therapy this afternoon, headed back to Ellie. But had to make a pit stop first.
Went to Walmart to get some items to fix my bike with. Like me, my RV & my life, it's getting old too!
I swear.
So bought new brake pads, a new tire tube & some spray paint for some touch ups on it.
That project will probably be taken care of on Thursday.
Therapy again tomorrow & Friday.

Then when I got back, I spotted something odd looking on the van.
So I grabbed my camera & stalked it.

Well, it was dinner time!

I'll spare ya'll, you can click on the photo to enlarge if you like. But I'll keep it small on this page.
;-)
Poor grasshopper. Wonder what it ate before it got eaten??
Yuck.

Then I trodded out to the field after running my dogs & tending to my kitties for the sunset.

Ha, trodded! Ha, I jest. I limped like a drunk.

Then I spotted the moon over Ellie.

Now it's dark. I'd take a pic, but it would be black.

Time to go feed the hungry pupper dawgs. I skipped dinner tonight. Sometimes I get nauseated when I'm hurting. This is one of those sometimes. But I did have a good lunch, so I'm good.

Hope everyone had a wonderful day!

Test post -Phone Uploading pic And video

Testing to see if I can upload a phone pic.

It worked!

Wonder if a video would work?

Wow, that worked too --  photo and video taken on my phone through a window while at therapy.

Life...as I know it...for now

Hi, hope all is well with everyone.

Just an update on things around here.

Nothing much going on, looks like I'll be staying in therapy for awhile.

Downside is, my foot is worse. The nerve problem is back.

Bummer.

The podiatrist has ordered a nerve test, I've not heard back about when that will happen.

I could possibly be facing another episode of Tarsal Tunnel again.

Not happy about that.

Once again, I can't walk far, I'm back in my boot if I have to walk very far.

This is NOT the direction I want to go in life - that's for sure.

I'm pretty disappointed as I'm so ready to move on, get to work & get on with my life. I thought that this last round of therapy was going to take me that direction....but it's not happening that way.

This stinks. I keep telling myself that there are so many people that are way worse off than I am.
And that is totally true!

This is a hinderance, not a life threatening illness. Another set back.

But darn it!

Still going to therapy 3x's a week.

What therapy consists of:
2 hours of exercise on the foot in the mornings. But not constant exercise as they want you to take breaks.

2 hours of mental therapy. Since I'm in group therapy, it's been interesting listening to other's problems & situations. Some folks really have some big issues. I feel bad for them. Some have been crippled for life due to job related accidents, which are way worse than mine is.

1 hour of lunch, then 1 hour of game/relax time. They want people to interact, play games or just chill out for an hour.

1 more hour of exercise.

Then onto electro therapy & massage therapy.

So that's what the schedule of the Chronic Pain Program is. They've set me up for 30 sessions, I've done 9 so far. This is my new part time job! But wait, no pay for all this work? Oh yea, I forgot, the pay is to get better!

I actually do like doing the exercises & using the equipment though.

A view of the exercise area

The electro therapy machine. Usually, ankles range around the 10-12 scale. I hit higher, sometimes, depending on which machine they use, I hit 32. Which is maximum.  This machine I hit 24 on. They have two machines & for whatever reason, one is stronger than the other. This is the stronger machine. 24 is still pretty high though.

I like Fridays!!

Friday is a more relaxed atmosphere. It's Fun day!

We still do the exercises & such, but after lunch, it's movie time! They play a movie & we can choose to just sit & relax. Watch the movie. I like that! For me, this is a real treat. I'm not doing anything for anyone except myself during this time. Yea, that works for me!

So I pick my 3 days a week. I pick my weekdays according to what works best for me, but I always pick Friday!

Movie time! Now, where's the fancy comfy home theater seats & popcorn?? Oh, can't have everything. ;-)

This morning, we did some garage sales. I geared my foot up in my brace, didn't do the boot since I was going to be in & out of the car constantly.

I bought a shower tension rod to hang in my shower area, but it was too big. Only 50 cents lost on that purchase though, so no biggie.
A tire repair kit for my bicycle, only 50 cents. Actually, it was a kit to fix motorcycle tires, so if I can't use it for my bike, I'll send it to my brother who has a Harley.
A really gorgeous jacket, suit type of jacket! And a really neat macrame belt made of leather.
I don't usually buy clothes at garage sales, but this jacket was beautiful.

When we got back, I was in pretty bad shape. A lot of pain, so I took my meds & put the TENS unit on. Ran through it twice. I like the TENS unit. It helps & feels like a big hug around my foot.

Then I took a nap, so I do feel better. But that nagging nerve thing kind of drives me crazy. It's the same feeling as when your foot falls asleep, but it doesn't stop. I'll have to get used to it till we find out what to do next. It does go away if I stay put for awhile & just sit without walking. But the moment I walk it comes back. So if I quit walking....maybe I'll be healed! Ah well, it doesn't quite work that way does it?

The doctor also gave me a new slip for a new handicapped placard. Usually, they last for 6 months, then I have to ask for a new one. I didn't pay attention to it, just took the paperwork over to get the new placard. Then found out this time, he gave me a permanent one. :-(  That actually kind of hit me wrong & when I left, I pulled over & felt sorry for myself. Which was stupid, but it was just a reaction. I'm over it now. Kinda.

Again, there are way worse things to happen to one's health then a bum foot & I can still walk. And I will get better!!!

My next splurge purchase will be a killer pair of cowgirl boots!!! Yep! (maybe I should not use the word killer huh?)

Ellie (my motorhome) wants to go on a trip, but I keep telling her to be patient. We will take one when we can.

Again, I hope all is well with everyone -- cheers to good health & happiness!!

Crack of Dawn

Hi Everyone, I hope ya'll have a great day!

I had to get up early this morning to take care of all the dogs. My friends are out of town & one of my dogs, Bravo, has to get up super early in the morning to avoid any accidents. He would be humiliated if he pottied anywhere except outside. He's such a good boy, but since he is now 13 years old, it also means getting up at the crack of dawn to get him outside. I don't mind. I love him very much.

Then I let my friend's two house dogs out & noticed an amazing sunrise!

QUICK! Grab the camera!!!

I got to the RV as soon as I could & did just that.

Soooo beautiful. Each stage was a stage of it's own glory.

I thought I'd share only a picture or two, but I just have to share a bunch of each stage as the sun rises.

Too beautiful not to share them all.

Well, actually there's even more than these, so I guess I'll say I'm sharing a select few.

Ready?

Get set?!

GO!

***Note the position of the sun in each photo. Such a gorgeous sunrise. I'm glad that I was able to see this to start the day off with.

Ahhhhhh

On another note, I'm back in the boot again. :-/

I'm strong, I'll get better!

So for today, I'm not going to do too much.

But I do plan on making a yummy breakfast...well, wait, it's 11am now, so lunch in a little while.

Potato (I like the frozen O`Brien hash browns with the onions & bell peppers), Turkey Bacon & Egg Taquitos. (Breakfast tacos- yum!)

I Feel Blessed

Hi everyone, hope all is well with ya'll.

I feel blessed.

I truly do.

Although most of ya'll know my trials in life, living in an old RV that needs work.

Living with a foot problem that I'm getting therapy for.

Being stuck for nearly 3 years where I am now.

I feel blessed.

I love life.

I'm happy to be alive & in this world.

Never take life for granted.

I always appreciate the small things in life. The skies, the trees, the birds, the sounds & smells of nature. It's all around us. Even in the city, you can still see the signs of nature. It's to be appreciated & admired. If one can't do that, they aren't living...

There's a storm a'comin' Pa:

The top photo is the skies to the west, then to the east, then towards the southeast where you can see it raining over the next town. Amazing stuff. We didn't get any of that rain that day. Photos were taken Oct 02, 2012.

That night, an amazing Harvest Moon:

Top photo taken with a different exposure on the camera. I wanted to capture the trees surrounding the fabulous moon. The photo on the bottom, a true color shot of the Harvest Moon. Taken 10-02-12

I treated myself today. Needed new workout shoes for therapy. I got some with spring looking heels, which I think will be good for me. I can slip my orthodics inside of them. Then another pair because I want to keep the workout shoes strictly for that purpose.

And to add more to my fabulous day, I painted my nails! I've not done that in quite some time, but we girls need our girly moments! They are purple :-)  I'll spare you a pic from that though.
We all need to treat ourselves from time to time. Do yourself a favor & go do something that makes you happy or feel special!

New RV related tab added + therapy

Hi all, About a week or so ago, I started a list as an aide on what to look for when looking for a new or your first RV.

I worked on that list again tonight & finalized it.

I added it as a tab "What type of RV is good for you", so if interested, please take a look.
Please feel free to add comments as well. I'll be happy to add to the list!

Thanks!

**********************************************************************

As for today, this is what I wrote from my cell phone earlier, but could not figure out how to use the clip board on it to add to my blog, so am adding it now:

3rd day of therapy. Must pace myself...so sitting for a spell. (What does that mean? I'm spelling words?). OK, back to the countrified (countryfried?) part of me:
......forgot what I was going to say....

Oh well.

They started me on upper body exercises along with my foot therapy exercises. I think it's a plot. Y'see, if they make my upper parts hurt, then I "might" just stop thinking about my footsey. Ha, slow down Cowboys...ain't gonna happen. I'll just hurt in both places, so there!

Then I sound like a train wreck..."Oh, but that will hurt my neck because of an old whiplash injury".
"Oh, but that will hurt the nerve/calcium deposit issues with my shoulder"
"Oh, that will hurt my elbow that I crammed into a doorknob in 'o7"....etc. too many things to list...unless you really want me to!

And they aren't buying my pathetic act neithers. Humps! Agggh, Humpf! Blasted auto correct!

And they asked me what I want for lunch at 8:30am?? Dang that's hard when food is my morning enemy. I'm not a morning foodie. But they have to call in the orders by 10...or something like that.

Oh, I forgot, I'm in therapy. Oops, back to exercising! With wankle weights...like I don't weigh snuff.... grr auto correct again...enuff.

Later....

OK, so all that was from my cell phone. The pain management program is odd stuff.
2 hours of exercise, then mental group therapy, then lunch. On Fridays, they also have movie time, I guess this is a way of mentally detoxing at the end of the week's therapy. Actually, the movie was kind of fun. And for lunch, you choose what you want off of the day's restrauant menu. After the movie, back to more exercises, then electro therapy (I call that shock therapy - ha) & massage ye olde footsey.

The group therapy is interesting as you get to know the other patients & their issues. And the sad, vicious political edge of workmans comp & work places. Wow, those adjusters can really mess with some folks heads!

Ha, I like to mess with one of the physical therapists. He's young & is always joking/laughing. So when he finished with my band exercises on my right foot, I said, OK, now the other foot. He started working on the other foot, then stopped & said, which foot did you hurt again??? I laughed because I pulled one over him! It was funny. Today, I grabbed a bottle of febreze & sprayed my foot because he once told me how some people don't maintain very good grooming habits. He laughed over that too. He's just so much fun to mess with!

After 3 days of therapy in a row though, my foot feels beaten & bruised. I'm glad it's the weekend! Won't have to do that again till Monday.

Have a great weekend everyone!!

Back in therapy

Well, I'm back in therapy again.
I'm really hoping this is the last go around with all this
Painful day for me. Lots of pain just on the drive there

It's generally a one hour drive (traffic), but took longer this morn. plus II had to go with rush hour traffic both ways.

9 more sessions to go. Hope it gets smoother.
But in the big picture of things, all could be way worse.

I have to be there from 8am-4pm. 3 days a week till my 10 sessions are met. after 2 years of this, I just want to be done with it all!

So, this is my life for the next few weeks. It will pass soon. Time sure seems to be flying by this year.

At least I can read some blogs while there :-)

Sending this post from cell phone. Too tired to turn computer on.
Hope all is well with everyone.

Beautiful day

A gorgeous day here.

Last night was an eaiser sleeping night with temps in the low 60's to high 50's. Did not even need to open vents or the overhead cab windows. Just had two windows open on each side of the rig, so that kept me comfortable all night long.

Ahhhh.

It's always nice to actually be able to sleep under the comforter rather than having it pushed aside.

Another ahhhh.

Night before was so humid, that sleeping required the use of air conditioning. What a difference a day makes huh?

Day before, rain, high humidity, just yukky. But in the big picture of things, the environment needs days like that as well.

I'm hoping for a nice cool (well Texas cool that is) fall.

                                                                        Feather

Roper says "Celebrate Life!"

All appropriate phone calls have been made. All important tasks have been done. So now onto the next thing.

Time to go clean this pig of a rig. It's amazing how quickly 145 square feet can get soo messy!

And it's a nice day to do this project.
