I hope all is well with everyone.
I'm recovering from my grueling trip back from my trip.
Wow, what an ordeal!
I have things to post, but am just too dang tired today.
I'm back to the old lifestyle of helping my friends & helping tending to the animals here while they are out of town.
Actually, I'm quite glad to be alone today. Need the down time.
So my question is, is there a setting somewhere to open new tabs for each of the blogs I follow? Sometimes I keep open tabs while I read back on some blogs, yet, open another just to read. But now they all open in the same tab, so I lose the previous blogger I'm following.
There's got to be a setting somewhere, right?
I plan on trying to catch up with everyone...but naps keep interrupting me! Such a crisis, I know...
Google Chrome did not work for me. IE still wants to crash. So yesterday, I downloaded Mozilla Firefox. So far, so good with that. If it can't open something, then I fall back on IE. That's been working out ok too.
Chrome just didn't work for me...so it's gone.
I WILL also download the antivirus that ya'll suggested too as soon as I'm clear minded again. The current one I use has suddenly become too invasive for me. In that it constantly wants to download Chrome back into my system with each update!
Thanks. Ya'll are GREAT on helping me out with these perplexing questions!
:-)

Try holding down the control key when clicking on the second or additional blogs and they should open in a new window. At least they used to.
ReplyDeleteOh that works like a charm -- thanks so very much!
DeleteGlad you arrived home safely Texcyn. Enjoy the downtime; I know you've earned it.
ReplyDeleteI followed you on your trip but don't know if my blog connects to anyone anymore. Seems to me Gmail/Google is really messing things up with too many new dings and bells. Anyway, I'm so glad you got your tranny fixed finally and hope the remainder of the trip was pleasant. Today is half decent in Central Texas after a week of triple digits but nothing like what you described in Ark. Whew! Again, enjoy the downtime!
Winderly, I went to your blog, but looks like you changed it. I can't access your new one. Access denied. It appears that you have to invite me? So I guess it's set as private? THANKS for following along with me! Even if we did a lot of sitting around waiting for repairs

Thanks for the explanation about my blog. I was messing around with it and no doubt clicked something I shouldn't have. Now....to find my way back in!
DeleteI use Firefox as my browser, and it opens several tabs for me when it first starts up. That is a setting you can use under "Tools" "options". I "subscribe" to the blogs I follow using Google Reader. When I click on a blog to open it, that blog opens in it's own tab. Anytime I click on a new blog, that blog will open in a new tab, so I can have more than one blog open at a time, each in it's own tab. I don't usually have more than a couple blogs open at any time, since I can read them and see all the photos using Google Reader.
ReplyDeleteThanks Russ. I don't use Google Reader, so have no experience with it at all. But I am liking Firefox! It's been years since I've used it.
DeleteSorry, can't help you there. Perhaps if you asked Rick??
ReplyDeleteThanks Judy. I'm sure he'll be here soon. heehee. He loves this kind of stuff! And of course, we're grateful for him.
DeleteI know we are running different computers but I have been using Goggle Chrome for years. Even over my Apple Safari that is preloaded in my Mac. Chrome is much faster and it loaded the websites, where my favorite browser, Firefox kept giving me problems. I do switch at times but I always come back to Goggle Chrome as my browser.
ReplyDeleteNow for my Google Reader, I have it bookmarked on the page where it list all of my blogs that I follow. I click that bookmark on my toolbar and it will list the blog with the most recent post and I read until I recognize the last one I read.
One thing you might want to consider on even IE....after you load each browser (IE, Chrome or Firefox) check to make sure that browers has the latest updates. Usually something labeled "Check for updates". Email me if you have further questions, I might be able to figure it out.
Thanks Bhounds. I don't know why. I've tried Chrome twice, but it won't give me the back buttons for hotmail & won't load the right way on my computer. Thanks for your advice. I see you have a new post, I must come visit!
DeleteTo open any link in a new tab just hover over the link, press the right mouse key and select "open in a new tab".
ReplyDeleteHa, there you are! Oh good grief, why is it the simple things I forget to look at? Thanks!
DeleteTexCyn, try going to your Firefox drop-down menu then Options and Options again. Go to tabs and check the box for "Open new windows in a new tab." That should setup your Firefox browser to just open a new tab when you click on a link. Or, at least that is how I have mine setup and it works like I think you are wanting it to... I sometimes have many, many tabs open at once so that I can keep up with them whenever I want to go back to them.
ReplyDeleteWith IE all I had to do was click on the next blogger on my menu & a new window would open. So I was perplexed how to fix it...turns out my mind was shut down again & it was simple ;-)
DeleteI knew Rick could help you!
ReplyDeleteWith Firefox, put links to all the blogs you want to read into one folder. Then from the bookmarks dropdown, when you highlight that folder the bottom option will be "Open all in tabs".
