You don't belong in here! Sssssscram!

Um, this does NOT belong in the house, let alone the kitchen!

Yikes! I was in the house, and walked RIGHT PAST THIS CRITTER!!

As he silently twisted his body in 1 million different directions.

It was when I closed the half door that I saw him. I only closed the half door to keep the dogs out of the room as I had mopped it & wanted the floor to dry first.

Then I saw him. Um, you aren't supposed to be in here!

So what did I do?

Ran out to the RV, grabbed my cell phone, grabbed my camera, then went to stalk him. I really wanted to get pics to identify him. I knew it wasn't a rattler, but wanted to know if it was a sssssafe sssssssnake or not.

He ssssslithered under the freezzzzzzzzzer.

I came out to the RV & returned.

He was ssssssssssslithering up the wine rack.

Sssssso, I caught a couple of picssss.

Camera didn't want to focussss though.

Sssssso, I got the besssst I could get

It's a Texas Rat Snake, but really, I'd be happier with it OUTSIDE!!!

It's nonvenomous, but ssssstill....

I'm not that scared of snakes, but sssssstill....

So I'm ssssstaying put in my RV  :-p

  1. Okay - I'd be finding somebody who would go in there and get him out cause I wouldn't go back in there until then. Nonvenomous or not!

    1. It's not my house. They are gone for a few hours. So, my responsibility is to stay in my RV! %-}

I can go through a different way to feed the dogs & I WILL do that! But they'd better get him out of there before they go out of town tomorrow....

  6. Okay, now I'm skeered (she says as she warily looks around the room) My first post didn't like the punctuation I used. Part of it didn't show up, so I deleted it and tried again! I'm still skeered, though! :)

    1. Oh goodnessss, I hope not!! I saw a huge black snake in my brothers travel trailer once. Turned around as he was giving me a tour of his TT & sitting on the dinette area was this HUGE black snake! He grabbed it by the head, took it outside & stood there, arm stretched up in the air. Snake's tail hitting the ground & my brother is over 6' tall! It was a harmless black snake & he released it into the woods. That was in Pa, not Tx. Oh great, I'm a snake charmer...

    1. Yea, that would have been too creepy! Do they get into folks homes?

  10. OMG - did you get him out? Now you won't know where he is. I would have screwed up my courage and gotten him by the head with my "grabber" and tossed him outside - far away. You've got to get a grabber tool. :)

    1. I do need a grabber! He knew I was watching him, so he slithered under a counter top & dissapeared into the kitchen somewhere! I am avoiding the kitchen -- not my house! ;-)

    1. There are vermin around here, so most likely the latter. Country life at it's finest! I kept the dogs away from it!

  13. We used to get garden snakes in the kitchen. They would come up from the basement, up the natural gas pipe behind the stove and hide under the stove, if they wandered out from under there then the cats would play with them. When we would walk in the door we found them and would throw them back out in the yard.

    1. Kitty toys!! There is a cat here, but he was outside at the time. He's big & fat though, so the snake could get away quite easily.

  14. as long as we knew what he was and he wasn't poisonous, I'd have put him outside for you.

  17. Paulette would be giving up RVing if she ever saw a snake in ours. It wouldn't matter why, how or what the reason. When it comes to snakes, she has no reason at all!!

  18. I don't like 'em but my son had a pet garter snake when he was about 10 and it was okay. He managed to escape his aquarium and we never did figure out where he went. Managed to eat my son's pretty angel fish first though!

  19. Just had ad chill thinking about that snake! When I started teaching (mid year,) I walked into my new classroom and a snake slithered over my foot and into the supply closet. I promptly walked out and down to the principals office and asked if he always greeted new teachers with snakes in their room. He didn't believe me until I insisted! Then he calls the science teacher to see if he had lost a snake...Yep! It was returned to it's proper home.
