Ellie Is Back!

Welcome Nan & John! I'm pretty sure ya'll have a blog, right? Your url doesn't show up so if you do, please let me know & I'll be happy to post it!

*******

Yay!

My motor home is back in her proper place in the driveway!

<insert collective cheers & whistles here>

After picking her up, I got an oil change at Kwik Kar.

All looks good there.

Leaks are gone - hopefully.
They sealed around my vents & such too, which was unexpected.

And they rebuilt my entry step! Totally cool!!

The only thing I'm not happy about is, they did not put the glazing bead back on the overhead cab window.

Instead, they put a bunch more caulk around there. I'll fix it myself later. I'm thrilled that they fixed that naughty step in well area that keeps breaking! At no charge to me.

AND they replaced my air conditioner cover too! Now that's a big Yipeee too!

The old one was cracked on the drivers side of the rig.

Then one fine day, I decided to crack the other side with my tv antenna!

Duh. Forgot to line the arrows back up before I rolled it down, so SMACK, SMACK, SMACK!!

I was hitting the daylights out of the passengers side of the a/c's cover! And well, I broked it more.

So now I have a nice new (used) air conditioner cover at no cost to me! And this one is not cracked!

Ellie needs a nice lovely bath & waxing. (we girls need that y'know), but that's for another time.

I am beat! My back will be really happy to be sleeping on my own bed tonight. It's not made for big soft sofas. So I'm still a little groggy from the pain meds I took last night. I had to double dose (kinda, within a few hours of the first dose).

Next week, I'll take her into another RV place, in town, so not too far to get the generator fixed on it's final repairs.

Then I'll take it over to a mechanic for an estimate on fixing an exhaust leak.

It's time to take a nap in my cocoon now ;-)

  1. So glad Ellie is out of the shop and in the driveway where she belongs. It was sure nice of them to go the extra mile this time after all they put you through.

  3. So happy for you!! I'll bet you sleep good tonight. She will be all fixed up looking like new after her bath. Maybe you should get a spa treatment too. :)

    1. Just a nice loooong nap would be like a spa treatment at this point. I did manage a tiny one in, but the dogs all had to be ran, so I didn't get to snooze very long.

  4. Maybe a professional portrait (by you!) of her when she is back home from her spa treatment?

    1. I'm kind of glad it's a bit too cold outside. I'd be tempted & there's no way I could even wash one single tire right now...

    1. Yes, I am Kim. It sure was nice to sleep in my own bed. Now I'm sitting on my own sofa, laptop in lap, TV rumbling on :-)

  6. Good News that you have your home back. I often wonder what I would do if I had to leave my RV somewhere for service. I wonder why they use caulk instead of the window beading?

    1. Teri, generally, I get to stay in my RV, but this wasn't possible at this place. It's not a side of town where one would want to walk down the street, let alone stay there! But most places, depending on what kind of work they have to do, you can stay there.

  7. Nothing like your own bed. I am lucky to love both our home bed and the Alfa bed. I was worried about it being small, but it feels good.

  10. I'm glad they got the work done, did they explain what they removed and used to get the thing to hold together so in a year you aren't back there? I don't understand them doing all that work and forgetting to install the window bead, using a bunch of caulk would be a red flag to me.

I hope it lasts and is leak free for you! Have a great weekend!

    1. Erik, they did not forget to install the glazing bead, I think they opted out by using all that caulk instead. It's a mess. I don't want to go back again, so I'll have to fix that on my own when I'm able to I guess. I needed them to straighten out a few things too, so that got done. If the sidewall were to become loose again, I know how to fix that. But I hope I never have to!
