Goals -- it's your future

“Our goals can be reached through a vehicle of plan, in which we must fervently believe, and upon which we must vigorously act. There is no route to success.” –Stephen A. Brennan

For those of you that want to aim for a goal for your future in RVing, van dwelling or whatever, I sat down today & wrote mine down. My lifes goals.

Short term goals & long term goals.

It was actually quite helpful to write it all down so I could gain a better perspective on my life as it is now & what I want it to become in the future.

You write down 3 short term goals on what you need to change in the immediate future. Be realistic & honest with yourself. Stay within your means.

Then write down 3 long term goals for the future. Again, keeping realistic & honest for what you want to strive for. Again, keeping within your means, but allowing bigger expectations.

Of course, I'm not asking anyone to share their goals. But I did find it helpful towards that feeling of breaking loose & realizing what I need to do to change things.

~As always, be kind to your pets, clean up after them on your travels & respect your neighbor~

  1. I think it is helpful to write things down too, whether goals, feelings of grief, anger, forgiveness. I have always been a writer guess that is why I like to blog. Good luck with all "your" goals.

    1. Tammy, it is a good idea to do that. I think I need to keep a journal of all my feelings when they surface as I tend to hold back & keep them inside. Yes, I think I'll do that. Putting it in writing with a pen, rather than typing it on the computer seems more profound & meaningful.

  2. Great idea, Cyn, one I had forgotten about. I have gotten sidetracked somewhat. Thanks for bringing that up. Good post!
Hope you are doing better with your foot! Keep in touch :)

    1. Hi Sunny, I hope you are having a great time! My time has been so limited lately that I've not had time to read much in blogland. I hope to get somewhat caught up this weekend...oh wait, it's going to be a busy weekend. Well sometime I hope to get caught up! I'm also hoping for some warm weather to head your way.
I have two more therapy sessions to complete the program I'm in. Then a doc appointment & we're waiting for approvals for other tests. This will be done one day, right???

    2. It's warming up now :-) I WISH I knew how to get "reply" on my comments form..... I have looked and looked and cannot find how to do it.
Sometimes we just need to endure what is happening in our lives, although I don't know as I'd be as patient and long-suffering as you have been with your problems. You amaze me!

    3. Sunny, I can't seem to find it right now either. I think I had it set up this way before Blogger switched to their new format. I have trouble finding how to change some things now... IF I figure it out, I'll let you know!

  3. I have found that writing things down is a help. I post short term goals on my bathroom mirror. "Write it down - Make It Happen"

    1. What a cool idea Teri! I have a narrow mirror on a wall, it would be a good mirror for such things!

    1. Thank you Jo. They've ordered a test for me, but so far, it's not been approved, so it's hurry up & wait time again.
But I've added into my goals a different mindset of living with a handicap if I don't get better...

  5. I think you have had goals all along whether written or not. It's not always easy to stay on track but as long as you are going in the general direction that will make you happy, you are doing okay. I know the whole foot issue is very trying but I think you have managed well. You have accomplished a lot.
