I've decided to apply for another position at the school rather than the previous one I was interviewed for. The first job was a part time position, which appealed to me, but after thinking it through, it was also a job that I was to be at 5 days a week. 4.5 hours a day at a pay rate that isn't really all that great.
So I've applied for a sub position instead. The pay is better, hours are longer, which makes the pay better. But I will have freedom of choosing what school, what type of position & if I want to work the next day or not.
Since the pay is better, I can work the school year & put a lot back for savings. Get the two new tires for the RV & get the rest of the generator repairs done.
I can also work the rest of the season & work towards getting the jewelry business going. Doing craft shows & perhaps taking the summer months to do some traveling & craft shows along the way. Now that appeals to me! And it also appeals to me to get away to cooler climates to beat the dreaded Texas summer heat!
I want the freedom of not being stuck at a job all year long, thus losing freedom to live life. I think that's a big part of what attracts us into the world of RVing! We want to explore, have our freedom, go where we can, when we can. But one can't do that without a budget of some sort.
I don't want a stifling life of being dragged down to having to work every single week of the year.
My injury & RV repairs over the past two years have pretty much depleated me. But I can rebuild & attempt to enjoy a good life in the meantime!
On the side, I've finally gotten all the apps I needed/wanted for my new phone. It's fun that I can read blogger on it! I can comment on some blogs, but not others through it though. It just depends on how the comments are set up. But I don't think anyone will miss my comments terribly from time to time.
I've found I can comment on most, so that's good at least. This will help when I travel or don't have access to my computer. It's amazing how phones are now like little mini computers!

Cell phone blogging
BLogging from cell phone this eve to test it out.
Don't know why, But the keyboard wants to
capitalize where it's not supposed to.
I did find out I don't need a blogger app like one does for Facebook via cell phone, but there's a few issues, like using the
keyboard.
Still, it's cool that I can now read and respond to blogs here :-)
Carry on....

Dog Match + Sunset
Hi, hope all is well with everyone.
Today, I've not done much of anything. But I did have a fridge scare!
My fridge is fairly new. It's a Norcold N641.
I got a drink out this morning & noticed that it had a lot of condensation on it.
Checked the freezer, the back of it was totally frosted over with a heavy sheet of ice.
Uh oh, my bad.
So I took stuff out of the freezer & took it into the freezer in my friend's house.
Put the ice packs that I keep in my freezer & placed them in the fridge.
Fridge was around 42 degrees. Fortunately, I really don't have anything in it that it would ruin, but still, we all need a good running fridge at proper temps!
So I defrosted the freezer, then switched the fridge over to LP to be sure it wasn't some electrical issue. Started the fridge back up. Freezer is now back to the proper temps, the fridge is still running a little warm, but I've not given it enough hours yet. So hopefully, it's only because I let the freezer build up too much for the fridge to function properly. I hope that's all it is!!
To clarify from the last post, I do not have any new leaks. The wall damages are from an old leak. But I did leave the windows open the other day & it poured rain. I didn't know because I wasn't at the RV at the time, so the rain getting in, combined with the old damage, probably caused my eye to see the mess it all made. Always something! I hate it when I leave windows open, then the skies break loose.
:-(
Yesterday, I mowed about an acre & half at my friends house -- riding mower of course.
Then took an allergy pill to be on the safe side.
Then my faux daughter & I went to a dog match. She was judging. We pretend we're mother & daughter sometimes because a judge thought she was my daughter at a real dog show. So we joke about it. In fact, someone asked us yesterday if we were related, so we got a laugh out of it. I'm glad she's not because she's in college right now & I don't want to foot that bill!! Ha!
So here's some pics of her judging at the match:

Rockin' RV - new stereo idea
If this RV's a'rockin - please come a'knockin'
It's party time!
Heehee, I'm into music today.
I've never figured out how the dash radio is wired up. To the coach battery or engine battery? It's one of those things that baffles me. But then, it doesn't matter anyhow since it doesn't have a CD player, nor is it ipod capable or anything like that. It's an old radio that came with the rig in 1996. Only plays radio (poorly) or cassette tapes, when it's not eating them.
Well could be worse, it could be an 8 track huh?
One day, I'll get a new radio & new speakers installed. On each side of my sofa are nice big speakers that are also connected to that system. They need replaced too.
So today's music is being presented by my new cell phone!
Last year, I bought this set of speakers. It has the regular type of plug that you plug into your head set plugs. Pin type, not usb type. I was thrilled when I found them.
When I watch movies on the computer, I hate the poor quality sound of the computers speakers. Just doesn't add to the movie experience. So I got these speakers to use with the computer. And I've used them with my small CD player. Downside, they do take electrical power, but that's ok. My computer's battery is getting old anyhow, so I watch movies with it plugged in too.
I ripped all my CD's into my computer, then uploaded them into the phone. Another alternative to music lovers is to go to the library & rip music into your laptop to save for your electronical devices. I just take my laptop along & do it there. The program I use for this is itunes. I always hook my headset up to the computer too just in case. Of course, with uploading the music, it's silent, but I don't want to annoy anyone in case my comptuer decides to "speak".
Hold on, one of my favorite songs is on now: Duran Duran - Ordinary World.
That songs' meaning changed profoundley for me when I used it for a video of Hurricane Ike.
Hurricane Ike Extreme Destruction, San Leon, Texas from Cyn Najera on Vimeo.
Course, that steers far, FAR from their version of the song!
But this storm changed my life....forever.
On another note.
Who wants to start an RV repair park?
I swear, I think one would be fantastic!
A central place where RVers could meet & help each other with issues of their rigs.
Could be fun too!
Kind of like Homes for Humanity. We'd have to pitch in & help each other with our rigs.
I found damages in a corner of my kitchen wall from an old leak.
Goodie. Grrrrrr - just another thing to address in this RV lifestyle I guess!
I'll just enjoy the music for awhile while I clean in here instead of worrying about that small part of my wall for now.

Blogger Apps?
Hi everyone.
I'm in the process of setting up my new cell phone.
It's an android based, Motorola Photon 4G LTE
I want to download a blogger app, but in googling that, it gets confusing as to which source to get it from.
Does anyone have this app on their android phone?
If so, what can you recommend?
Thank you!
Other than this, not much else going on.
Need to get the RV in order though as I might have to make an emergency trip to Corpus Christi, TX.
A family thing.
Hope all is well with you & yours.

Happy Camper
OK, really, I'm not camping.
I got a surprise gift in the mail the other day.
Soooooo cute!!!
Yay, I love surprise gifts!!
The shirt is actually army green, but the camera could not seem to catch the real color of it.
Plus it's not how I really spell my name, but this particular person likes to spell it that way.
Doesn't matter, I've royally cornfused everyone on how I spell it anyhow...
Thank you to the one that sent it to me :-)

Interview
Hi all, hope all is well with everyone.
My interview went very well yesterday! So good in fact, that the girl that interviewed me said she wished we'd be working at the same school. A nice compliment! But there are still ropes to tend to. The down side is that I've been self employed for 20 years. All previous work history to that was in the 80's & some of those offices are either closed down, or folks are gone now. They did not want to take my last job into consideration for references, although I still have a few contact numbers from them.
Upside is, I have two friends that also work for the school district, so I gave them their names & numbers for references. Hopefully, they'll accept that. It's up to the Human Resource department to consider that avenue.
Then I was still feeling a bit funky with the sore throat. So I went to the doctor. If I'm possibly going to work with kids, then I need to be sure I don't have anything contagious. As it turns out, my sore throat is viral, but I'm at the tail end of it. The reason I've not healed totally yet is due to allergies. Good thing I didn't try to mow the acreage on Wednesday like I wanted to! So I just have to remember to keep taking my allergy pills & it'll clear up.
This morning I spent time outside doing some work, but stayed clear of things that I'd react to. As well as I could. Got all the dogs tended to & cleaned out my black holding tank! Whew, that really needed to be done. It's one of those tasks that's easier to put off then to address ;-)
So all work is done, it's noon & the skies broke loose. I'm glad they waited till I got my chores done.
I'm alone this weekend, so will enjoy that time off. Need to mess around inside of the RV, clean it & put stuff away.
But first things first, a nap may be in order! Plus I went to the library yesterday & got 6 movies to watch over the weekend. That probably was way too many movies, but I have them for awhile before I have to return them, so maybe some will be viewed next weekend as well.
Have a great day everyone!

Changes - new job prospect - new cell phone
Hi, Hope all is well with everyone.
I have a few changes coming up.
Although I still have issues with my foot/ankle, I asked for a work release so I can go back to work. I'm almost out of money & need to take care of myself! So I'm allowed to go back to work, with restrictions.
I have an interview tomorrow. Kind of anxious to see what the job entails. It'll be working with the school district with their after school program. Part time, which is actually ok with me for now anyhow. Anything is better than nothing. Plus this will allow me to concentrate on building a website more anyhow. I've set up more of my jewelry on my jewelry blog, but I really want to build a website for it. The blogger page gives me an idea of what I want of it though.
And I like the after school thing because that means I won't have to get up at dark thirty in the morning every morning! I'd have to get up super, super early to take care of my dogs before I went to work. This way, I can work out a better schedule for them & myself.
Also decided on a new phone! Went to Sprint today & played with it. It was FUN!!!
So this is what I decided on:

Also decided on a new phone! Went to Sprint today & played with it. It was FUN!!!
So this is what I decided on:
Click here to learn more & look at the phone if you wish.
I wanted a new phone that was faster, better & Android based. A slider with a physical qwerty keyboard. My phone dropped the face book app around a year ago, which sucked. Although I don't play FB often, it wasn't available to me through my current phone anymore. I could not even get to it through the web on my phone. I'd get error warnings instead. And I want to be able to read blogger from my phone too! So I think this phone will fit the bill. They are like little mini computers now. Amazing!
And I can add apps as I need them. My current phone isn't a full smart phone, so can't add any apps to it. Plus it just LOVES to call people randomly! Hate that. One time it called an old employer while I was in the kennel yelling at one of the dogs that was being naughty. Embarassing!!
Plus it would be nice to be able to get more than just 25 emails at a time & be able to go back & forth through the emails. Can't do that on my current phone. So anyhow, enough about all this - but I can't wait till it comes in! Best Buy has it for $100 less than Sprint does, so it's getting ordered through BB, but will still go into my Sprint account. Not a bad deal!
And it'll be nice to be networked without having to turn the computer on all the time. Especially when traveling.
Oh & if I get this job, I'll be able to get that generator fixed & those two new tires. At least then, I could look forward to some weekend trips!

The day the eagle cried
I'll never forget that dreaded day of 9-11. How horrifying it was & I was just observing the horrors of that day through the TV & news stations. I was working in my grooming shop, when I looked up at the TV to see the Twin Towers under attack. What a shocker that was...for the entire country.
My heart still goes out to those directly effected. Although we all were in one way or another, it had to be tougher on those directly involved. My brother in law lived in the Bronx at the time & worked in NYC. He & many, many others walked home that day as they don't typically have cars in NYC.
I was in NYC sometime after that, but it was winter time. My friends went to see ground zero, but I was kind of glad that I could not go see that sight. I don't think I could bear the thought of all the pain involved at that particular place.

New phone vs New motorhome
First of all, congrats to me!! If you put Coachmen Catalina Sport 220RK into googles search bar, I come up on the front page with My Motorhome Upgrades & Repairs Tab! Totally cool! Thanks to Kate who mentioned it to me via comments! Yay for me!
Soooo, the reason for tonight's post:
So which would be easier to choose?
A new phone or a new motorhome.
I'd say motorhome.
But....the phone is cheaper.
But...how in the heck do you choose!! AGGGH!!
I need to stick with Sprint (I don't pay the bill, someone else does <G>)
I want a droid based phone, with a sliding keyboard.
I hate typing on the screen keyboard on my current phone.
Found one, that fits the bill.
Downside is, the battery is sealed & you can't take it out if you ever need to do a hard reboot! Soooo....
And I want a big screen because I'm old & blind. No, blind. I don't want to be old yet.
Went to Best Buy, they have the phone at way less than Sprint does. But their phones are fake plastic things. You can't play with them.
So back to Sprint tomorrow to play with real phones...still plastic, but they work ;-)
I don't want an iphone. Yes, Sprint carries them now, but I want control of my own sim card that I can take out myself if I want to. :P``
I'm looking at the Motorola Photon Q 4G LTE. But the battery thing keeps worrying me. Dang. I like the big screen on some of the Samsung phones, but they are not sliders. Besides, the phone I have now is a Samsung & it's dying. And the voice command constantly comes on & calls people. Nice. Not.
Maybe I'll add a donate button & make enough money for a new motorhome instead. If that were to happen, then I'd just keep the phone I have & it could call anyone it wanted to. I wouldn't care. I'd be in my new motorhome exploring it instead.
Yea, right....dream on...

I mOOn you & an AMAZING dog story
This story is soooo amazing! It might require a few tissues, but tissues in a good sense!
Take a look at rv sue and her canine crew for this amazing story -- wow, the power of a blog at it's best!!
I'm thrilled that Timber is reunited back to his owner. Simply amazing story & it got national news coverage!
So, I hope all is well with everyone. I've been under the weather for the past three weeks. Still feeling a bit puny & get tired easily. Hope it passes soon.
The night of thenew BLUE moon, I attempted to take pics. (oops, didn't realize I typed new till Tesaje noticed it). I guess the Blue moon was really just very bright! So the camera had trouble focusing on it & I got little colored lights around it from the cameras lens. But at least I remembered & well, so did the mosquitos. They feasted on me during that photo shoot. Yikes! 4 cases of West Nile in our little city. Again, Yikes! So I did not stay out very long in my attempt of trying to catch the Blue moon.
The next night, the moon was really cool! Surrounded by really neat clouds. I love these kind of shots, so again, out came the camera, sans the tripod due to mosquitos & my wanting to get quick shots to escape the blood sucking little beasts.
