I am having major problems with my computer & blogger.

I use Internet Explorer 9

And I use Mozilla Firefox.

Mozilla can't open blogger. I get this with Mozilla:

*The page isn't redirecting properly

Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete *

Internet Explorer can open blogger, but it's painfully slow. Kind of like back in the old days of dial up with aol!
I don't know what's going on. It just gets worse & worse with IE. I went in & hit reset, but that did not change a thing. They had an update on 12/11 - it's gotten worse.
I keep the computer in good shape. I use two different malware programs & of course, my antivirus program. I clean the cache often, run the Disk Cleanup & defrag often.
I thought about uninstalling IE & reinstalling it. Don't know if that will help or not.

Chrome does not work on this computer well at all. I've tried twice. This computer isn't compatable with Chrome.

This computer is about 5 years old. It's a Compaq (HP based)Presario CQ60 laptop. Vista Operating System. It is NOT compatable for any other OS, so I have to stay with Vista. And I'm not in the position to buy another computer just because IE is giving me grief. So please, no grief over my having to use Vista would be appreciated. Windows 7 was not out yet when I bought this computer.

Any suggestions from the tecchie crew out there?

Thanks in advance.

  1. It sounds like it could be a 'cookie' problem - not Chocolate Chip I hope as they're might favourite.

To clear your cookies in Firefox, go to Tools, Privacy and look for 'remove individual' or all cookies and follow instructions to remove all cookies.

    That should clear things up.

  2. p.s. if that doesn't work, trying clearing the cache too.

  3. Thanks for the shoot out :) My IE when using Blogger keeps telling me I need to download Chrome...I don't want to. Now this new Galaxy Tablet...all works well. Think I'll try the cookie cleanup...

  4. Nope, not chocolate chip Rick because they'd be in me causing problems instead! ;-) I did clear Firefox & IE this morning (again). I ran a disk clean up & defragged. It's still running painfully slow, now IE is coming up with a black screen till everything loads. Weird. Firefox is running smoothly, but not IE. So I'm again running my malware programs & then I'll probably run a security check against the computer too. I think I'll even go to Norton's site & run their security check after I run my antivirus program. Thanks to you both, I appreciate any input.

  6. I'm still using Vista and Firefox and everything seems to be working okay here at my house. Sure hope you get it all fixed shortly. It really is frustrating when things don't work.

  7. Your problem can be NOrton. I still haven't gotten it off my other computer and it is not working. This lap top got hit hard when I canceled norton.practically had to wipe out everything. Norton can be worse than any virus. Good luck
