Great Weather - Beads & Blooms

Hi everyone, hope all is well with ya'll. When Blogger said they were going to change, they meant it! But before we all know it, we'll get used to the new format.

I did some work on my jewelry blog yesterday, the old blogger was there. Then I came back last night to totally find it all changed & different. If I wasn't used to the RV blog network, then it would have been really strange to me, but I find some things a little similiar there. Anyhow, it is what it is huh?

I still have work do to on the jewelry blog, I'm trying to organize it. Got my bracelets up yesterday. And I figured out how to do tabs. I did a post, then discovered that you had to create a page, not a post, so had to redo it, in order to create a tab. At least I was able to copy & paste the fonts & carry that over, but had to reload all the photos. If you care to take a look, I'd like some feedback. I need to get myself organized & probably build a real website, but for now, I'm experimenting with it in blogger first.

So far, I only have the home page & a bracelet tab.

We had a storm roll through yesterday. I am HAPPY to say..no, ELATED, that no leaks were to be found in Ellie! Yay! Yipeee!! Yahooo! The rain didn't last but maybe an hour or so, it did rain hard. Afterwards, the cool air moved in, thus making for a lovely day today.

Then I went to Hobby Lobby & bought more beads. Yikes! Can't resist them. They are sooo purdee..ooOOOooo...shiny things! I bought too many, so now really need to get to work creating things with them!

The Afghans are back for grooming too, so they will be my chore for tomorrow. I hoped I could sit down & organize the beads as I bought a bunch of plastic bead boxes, but that will probably have to wait till Monday. I've started calling myself the bag lady. I have bags & bags of beads & such & shove all them in a duffle bag. Now I want to get them all in the bead boxes & put them neatly in the duffle bag. Plus that will give me a better view of what I have instead of rooting around in bags & driving myself nuts. (nuttier?)

Anyhow, I've finally gotten my creative side rolling again. Here is a custom pair of earrings I did for a friend. They really turned out neat. I still need to take photos & get the photo jewelry up as well.

These are photo stones. Some were turned into pendants, some pins & some paperweights.

A lot of our wildflowers are starting to fade now, but the magnolia trees are starting to bloom as well as some of the other blooming things around here. I think the Magnolia tree is about my favorite tree! Their blooms are just so magnificent!  We worked hard to save the three Magnolia trees on the lot here last year during the drought. My friends told me they lost two other Magnolia trees a few years back in another drought. Well time to go feed the dogsters here, so have a good evening everyone!

unclogging the RV sink

We had a storm roll through this morning, but it was not as bad as the hail storm from a few weeks ago. We got a little hail with today's storm, but still not nearly as bad! But I do have a leak around my big picture window. I thought it was because I probably needed to add fresh glazing bead, & that still could be it. (the fat stuff, I replaced the skinny stuff & it doesn't leak there) I'll have to ask when I get my RV in to a few folks to look at it. The only thing I noticed was that water was pooling on the frame, so got a towel there before it dripped down the wall. And for whatever reason, the plastic is still holding!! Thanks plastic gods for looking out for that! At 2:30am, the winds blew through, loud & strong! Woke me up, then I could not go back to sleep. Rock-a-bye-baby doesn't work for me!! My antenna was rocking around on the roof, so I cranked it down. I went outside to inspect anything that could fly into the RV or if everything on the RV itself was secure. I secured the clips on the vent opening to the kitchen from the outside. No more flapping from it. I need to replace the antenna handle, the last time I did it, I glued it on! Um, might not have been the smartest move because now I have to break it off. The handle part broke in half & now there's just a stub to deal with. I have to use garden gloves on my hands to twist....er, turn it.
I've decided to fight the insurance company. Last weekend, several RV folks thought that it should be covered. I have a statement from Camping World that the problems are due to damages of road debris that I got hit by. I want to get at least two more statements if possible to make the case stronger. Now getting the RV to a couple of other people has been a challenge for me because of time or weather.
I also got my vacuum sweeper out & sat it on the floor. So far, it's not done a thing! Isn't that how it's supposed to work? You sit it there & it goes to work? Maybe if I plug it in, then it will go to work? Maybe that's the problem? Yes, that must be it!

Oh yea, the post was supposed to be about unclogging the sink. Mine isn't clogged, but I read on someone's blog (Tioga George   http://blog.vagabonders-supreme.net/) how to unclog your drain. His was clogged. But in reading it, it was also suggested you do a baking soda/vinegar thing once monthly. My gray tank doesn't drain as quickly as it used to, so I think I'll try the baking soda method in hopes of helping to clear the system. I'm guessing that I should drain the tank first, then try? What do ya'll think?  Here's how you're supposed to do this:

Weather or not & a nice win!

Hi all, hope everything is well for everyone. So, not sure what's up with the weather? Whether or not if it's going to change? Last week started out chilly, which was loverly for a change. Then each day, it's warmed a bit more & more. Right now at 4:50pm, it's 85, not too bad, humidity at 50 something %. But I got tired of melting due to humidity, so I just finally broke down & turned my a/c back on for a bit. The mosquitos are ready to carry us away though? Wow, where did they come from??? No rain for days now, actually, maybe a week & half ago? or more? Now those pesky biting mosquitos? And biting flies! Ugh. Glad I turned on the a/c for awhile!

Took one of the salukis out for lure coursing this weekend, she kicked butt & won breed today! Yay Birdie! Thank you Birdie! Good girl Birdie! Now she's resting & I'm glad to be back at the RV safe from those biting things outside! I coursed her where they have hook ups for RV's, but the roads getting there are sooo rough that I think it's best not to take the motorhome there. I might find my cabinets on my sofa & floor! Yikes, that road is rough. And you have to drive past cattle that may be standing on the road. Blocking it & you just have to wait till they decide to move out of the way. It's a ranch, next time I go out there, I should take pics of the horses that people board & ride there.

Anyhow, not really much else happening. It did look like rain earlier & I was afraid it would rain because I went off, leaving the vents all open & the windows all open on the RV! I don't have vent covers, so that would not have been pleasant to come back to.

OK, before I decided to close today's blog, I decided to go out, take pics of Birdie's ribbons & of course, of her too! Again, good girl Birdie!!

Todays Saluki score sheet

Birdies ribbons. Today was only her 3rd run ever. So far, she's gained two Best of Breed wins! One with ASFA, one with AKC. Way to go Tweeters!! (you can't tell I'm proud can you?)

And here is the sweet girl herself

I also have a coursing video to share of a Borzoi run, but it took me forever just to be able to get pics up, so I'll share the video at a later time.
